The Research and Education Collaborative with Al-Quds University (RECA) is a non-profit organization established to provide support for the continued operation of academic programs at Al-Quds University in Jerusalem and to encourage collaborative projects between faculty and students at Al-Quds and their counterparts at American institutions. Founded in Boston in 2010, the organization is governed by a five-member volunteer board of academic and business professionals.
Al-Quds University, situated within the heart of Jerusalem, is the only Arabic university in Jerusalem. It provides Arab students a unique opportunity for higher education at lower costs, with doors open to the entire population. RECA was founded to provide a foundation for Al-Quds to grow both materially and in terms of broader collaborative exposure. The University requires material support to keep its laboratories, library and other facilities operational. While aiming to solicit material support, RECA also facilitates and encourages networking between American and Al-Quds students and faculty. These collaborative efforts and cross-learning opportunities help foster a broader understanding of cultures and break down religious, racial and ethnic barriers.

Al-Quds University
Al-Quds University was established in 1995 when several independent colleges focusing on different disciplines were combined into a single institution. It is today the only Arab university in Jerusalem providing higher education and community services within Jerusalem, and the neighboring towns, villages, and refugee camps in the West Bank.
